Chinese-Australian Institute for Socio-Economic Research (CAISER), ISCD, SDU

To further the collaboration between China and Australia in the field of social sciences researchthe Institute for Studies in County Development of Shandong University (ISCD, SDU) initiates the Chinese-Australian Institute for Socio-Economic Research (CAISER), inviting the University of New South Wales (UNSW) acting as an external partner.

As one of the world's top research universities, UNSW has leading research teams in many areas of social sciences. Many scholars from UNSW expressed a strong interest in studying China’s problems, but lack access to research fields in China. ISCD can provide them with comprehensive support, enabling them to do in-depth research in various urban and rural environments, since ISCD has established close links with local governments across China. Shandong University excels in most areas of social sciences research in China. Through the cooperation with UNSW, Shandong University can further internationalize the research scopes in social science research.

In short, CAISER is a platform for international cooperation across disciplines in social sciences. The scholars from both Shandong University and the University of New South Wales can utilize CAISER to facilitate their fieldworks in China.
